During a three year long period, the relationship between soil dwelling mesofauna assemblages and nitrogen cycling is studied in two crop lands in Őrbottyán and Nagyhörcsök. The seasonal changes of soil microarthropod population density are followed during the growing season of crop plant and the role of mesofauna in nitrogen leaching losses is compared between different fertilization and drought treatments.
